Governor Abbott Issues Executive Order Implementing Essential Services And Activities Protocols

In his latest Executive Order to protect Texans, Gov. Greg Abbott released a video message Wednesday afternoon mandating Texans to stay home as officials work to address COVID-19 concerns.

The order goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. April 2 and requires all Texans to stay home unless they are “participating in an essential service or activity.”

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Monitoring

The City of Lakeside City is monitoring the progression of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and its potential impact on the community.

The City of Lakeside City is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all its citizens and staff. We ask that residents follow Governor Abbott’s Executive Orders and remain at home as much as possible to decrease the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

City Hall CLOSED

City Hall (199 Bowman Road)
• The City Hall office will remain CLOSED until further notice.
• The after-hour drop box remains open 24/7.
• Staff can be reached at (940) 691-6603 (M-F 8:00–5:00).
• Payments in the form of cash, checks, and money orders will be accepted at the drop box out front of City Hall. (CHECKED DAILY)
• Payments can be submitted electronically (contact your financial institution).
• Payments can be made online at www.lakesidecitytx.org
• Payments and correspondence can be mailed to P.O. Box 4287, Wichita Falls, TX 76308.
 
Public Safety (police, fire, emergency medical services)
• Report emergencies at 911.   *Please notify the dispatcher if you or any family members are experiencing or have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms.
 
 
Emergency Management
• The State of Disaster for a Public Health Emergency remains in effect until further notice.
 
Water and Wastewater                                                                                 
• Utility workers will continue providing essential services.
• After-hour emergencies can be reported at (940) 733-5112.
 
Sanitation
• Regular trash pickup remains on Monday mornings.
• Requests for bulk trash pickup (first Tuesday of every month) can be made by telephone at (877) 592-5030.

Playground Equipment In Public Parks Closed

The City of Lakeside City remains in a local state of disaster for public health. Due to the nature of public playground equipment, public picnic tables, public basketball courts, and other public sports and recreational equipment which is not routinely cleaned or disinfected, ALL PUBLIC EQUIPMENT IN THE PARK WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The public walk trail at the park in Lakeside City remains open to the public; however, social distancing is required in the park. Please maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from people who do not share the same residence as you and please avoid ALL social gatherings. Please stay healthy and safe as you enjoy the public parks.
